Objective To observe the changes of blood sugar and insulin levels (FPG and 2hPG), glycated hemoglobin,TCSS Score and neurotic electrophysiology before and after giving compound Yu Quan Yin II prescription;investigate its significance and clinical effects in improving the neurologic function in type2 Diabetes Mellitu plus Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) patients with qi and yin deficiency and blood stasis; provide clinical evidence for treating those DPN patients with qi and yin deficiency and blood stasis by using this prescription. Methods A total of 84 patients treated in outpatient and inpatient of my hospital between January 1,2015 and February 29,2016 who met the inclusion criteria were enrolled in this study. They were divided into observation group and control group based on a random number table,42 patients in each group, namely 42 in the simple western medicine group (mecobalamin+basic treatment) and 42 in TCM treatment group (compound Yu Quan Yin Ⅱ +western medicine+basic treatment). The changes of serum FPG,2hPG, glycated hemoglobin, nerve conduction velocity (NCV) and TCSS Score were observed before and after treatment. Results 1.A total of 84 patients were enrolled in two groups,42 in each observation group and control group of which 40 patients finished the observation in the observation group while 39 patients finished the observation in the control group, with the drop ratio being 6.0%. 2. The total effective rate:For the treatment of type2 Diabetes Mellitu plus Diabetic peripheral neuropathy patients with qi and yin deficiency and blood stasis, for observation group, it was significantly effective in 14 cases, effective in 20 cases and invalid in 6 cases, and the total effective rate was 85%, for control group, it was significantly effective in 8 cases, effective in 17 cases and invalid in 14 cases, and the total effective rate was 64.1%. The difference was statistically significant (P< 0.05);3. TCM clinical symptom improvement rate: in observation group,4 cases of were cured,14 cases were effective,17 cases were markedly,5 cases were invalid, and the total effective rate was 87.5%; in control group,1 cases of were cured,3 cases were effective,20 cases were markedly,16 cases were invalid, and the total effective rate was 59%. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);4. Laboratory index:after treatment, the FPG、2hPG and NCV in observation group were better than that in control group (P<0.05); 5.Safety:The liver function, renal function, blood routine test are within the normal range after treatment in both groups and no apparent adverse reactions reported. Conclusion Compound Yu Quan Yin Ⅱ prescription has the specific efficacy in improving the FPG, PBG and glycated hemoglobin as well as clinical symptoms, NVC and neurologic function in patients with qi and yin deficiency plus stasis-type 2 DPN. It is safe and feasible with some certain application prospect and worthy of further intensive studies.
