| Aim:It was aimed to investigate the expression of IL-17 and IL-23p19 in chronic radiation enteritis and to explore the clinical significance. Methods:Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of IL-17 and IL-23p19 in 31 chronic radiation enteritis and 30 normal colon tissues. Results:The positive expression of IL-17 and IL-23p19 in chronic radiation enteritis was much higher that normal colon tissues(P<0.05).The expression of IL-17 and IL-23p19 in chronic radiation enteritis was related with symptoms and endoscopic score(P<0.05).There were significant correlations between the expression of IL-17 and IL-23p19 in chronic radiation enteritis.Conclusions:Th17/IL-23 axis may play an important role in the development of chronic radiation enteritis. |
