Preliminary Observation Of Face-mouth Infrared Thermal Image Of Acupuncturing Hegu(LI4) On The Acne Vulgaris Patients

Objective:To observe the infrared thermal images and facial temperature after acupuncturing Hegu (LI4) and Waiguan(SJ5) on acne vulgaris patients with infrared thermography,and compare the changing process of infrared thermal images in face of patients after single and multiple acupuncturing Hegu acupoint. And to explore the functional proof for the relationship between LI4 and mouth-face, so as to bring into light the mechanism of acupuncture and the function essence of acupoint partly.The study can make for improving the modernization of acupuncture and clinical therapeutic effect.Methods:The 50 patients with acne vulgaris which lesion focus in the face were divided into Hegu group and Waiguan group, and be observed of the facial temperature and infrared thermal images before and after accepting single and multiple acupuncturing respectively.The distribution and change of temperatures were measured and the data was comparatively analyzed.Results:(l) Hegu group’s facial maximum temperature,minimum temperature and average temperature after single acupuncturing is significantly higher than before treatment, and the temperature difference was statistically significant (P< 0.05).The change of temperature of Waiguan group is unconspicuous,and the temperature difference was not significant (P>0.05). (2) The nature maximum temperature,minimum temperature and average temperature of the Hegu group aftert multiple treatment was lower than the facial average temperature before first acupuncturing, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusions:(1) Single acupuncturing Hegu cause facial temperature rising,this result prompt acupuncturing Hegu can cause facial telangiectasia, improve blood circulation, strengthen energy metabolism, promote the metabolism of skin cells. (2) The nature average temperature of the Hegu group aftert multiple treatment was lower than the facial average temperature before first acupuncturing,to explain that acne vulgaris patients with skin inflammation under control, and prove its clinical significance.
