The Clinical Study Of Acupuncture Therapy Of Tongyuan In The Treatment Of Vascular Dementia

ObjectiveThis research expounds Acupuncture Therapy of Tongyuan in the treatment of Vascular Dementia and observe the clinical effects of Tongyuan acupuncture treatment of vascular dementia, Offering a scientific theory and clinacal evidence for the further application.Methods48 Patients with vascular dementia from The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the second Chinese medicine hospita of Guangdong Provincial, were randomly divided into two groups, the Tongyuan group and the ordinary group. 24 patients accepted Tongyuan acupuncture treatment,24 patients accepted routine acupuncture treatment. Both of then were offered the basis treatment. The main points of Tongyuan group are GV19, GV20, GV21, GV26, BL15, BL15, CV6 and HT7. Acupuncture on these acupuncture points, retaining the needles for 30 minutes after De Qi. Twisted the needles for every 10-15 minutes. The patients were treated 1 times a day. Every 15 days for a period of treatment. One course of treatment contains three period of treatment, between these courses for one day off. The main points of the ordinary group are GV20, EX-HN1, GB39, KI3, KI4 and ST36. Acupuncture on these acupuncture points, retaining the needles for 30 minutes after De Qi. Twisted the needles for every 10-15 minutes. The patients were treated 1 times a day. Every 15 days for a period of treatment. One course of treatment contains three period of treatment, between these courses for one day off. The differences of scores were evaluated before and after treatment. Including Hastgawa Dementia Scale(HDS), Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Activity of Daily Living Scale (ADL) and the Seale for The Differentiation of Syndromes of Vascular Dementia(SDSVD). All date were analyzed the sofware SPSS22.0.Results1. Baseline analyse:There were no statistical differences comparatively between the two groups at age, sex, course, state of disease and the scores of the scales(P>0.05).2. Both of two groups could improve the HDS scale score, and had a statistical significance (P<0.05), but they did not achieve statistical significance between each other(P>0.05).3. Short term memory and common sense were improved in Tongyuan group, which had a statistical significance (P<0.05)4. The MMSE scale score were improved in Tongyuan group, and the result had a statistical significance(P<0.05).By comparison the MMSE scale score might improved in the ordinary group, but it did not achieve statistical significance.5. Both of two groups could reduce the IADL、PSMS and ADL scale score, and had a statistical significance (P<0.05). But the scale score of PSMS reduce more apparently in Tongyuan group, which had a statistical significance (P<0.05)6.Both of two groups could reduce the SDSVD scale score, and had a statistical significance(P<0.05). But the scale score of SDSVD reduce more apparently in Tongyuan group, which had a statistical significance (P<0.05).Conclusion1. Both of the two methods of acupuncture had apparent clinical effect for treating Vascular Dementia.2. Tongyuan therapy of acupuncture was superior to the routine acupuncture in some ways, such as improved the short term memory and common sense, the self-care ability and the TCM symptoms.3. Tongyuan therapy of Acupuncture has significantly reliable effect on Vascular Dementia, which is worth to be popularized.
