| Purpose The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical characters and effect of implant-supported dentures in aged patients with dentition defects.Materials and Methods 42 elderly patients with dentition defects received a total of83 dental implants restoration. Follow-up visits were carried out for 1 to 3 years to observe the survival rate of implants restoration, osseointegration, the recovery of soft tissues, the bone loss of implants, and patients’ satisfaction.Results Dental implant restoration was successful in 81 cases. The survival rate of implants was 97.59%. According to the X-ray, the bone loss of plants was(0.66±0.06)mm in the first year,(0.67±0.06)mm in the second year;(0.67±0.06)mm in the third year. The bone loss of implants met the requirements of success, and there is no statistical significance between the bone loss in three years. The gingival surroundding the plants looked normal. No loose implant and crown have been found.Patients feel satisfied and comfortable with implants.Conclusion Dental-supported implants have a clear efficacy during the restoration of dentition defect in elderly patients. |
