Because of regional broad, long history and many ethnic groups in China, Chinese medical system is the multi-bit medicine cultural complex, which includes medical systems theory, public medical knowledge and folk medicine. Culture is the whole complex being made up of knowledge, belief, art, law, morals, customs and habits as a member of the society. The diverse culture will produce multiple folk medical activities, which enriches the existing medical and medicine. Researching the status and interaction of folk medicine in typical culture is meaningful study in theory and practice level for understanding of medical culture and folk medicine more comprehensively.Incantation and Medicine, as a medical phenomenon, exists in the practice of traditional medicine widely. The treatment method of Incantation and Medicine from the local wizard consists of medicine and incantations, which is full of supernatural ingredients. The phenomenon of Incantation and Medicine is related to local cultural system, natural environment and social relations closely. Therefore, we can understand and study the cognition, classification and treatment logic for disease of people in folklore society comprehensively.In multiple health system,the health seeking behaviors of people in Zigui region present the diversification consisting of western medicine treatment, Chinese medicine treatment and wizard treatment. In the process of modernization of medical, the treatment of Incantation and Medicine does not disappear. Only in the specific historical periods and cultural system, Researcher would study the phenomenon of Incantation and Medicine much better.This thesis includes five parts, the prolegomenon part is the background, literature review, research framework, research method. Chapter one is the overview of fieldwork. In Chapter two, the author describes the medical behavior content and treatment process of Incantation and Medicine. In Chapter three, the author analyzes the cultural performance of Wizard’s Vanquishing Snake. In Chapter four, the author discusses the rise and fall of Wizard’s Vanquishing Snake and social change.
