Objective: To investigate the relationship between cancer-related fatigue and neutrophile granulocyte in gastrointestinal tract cancer patients accepting chemotherapy, and the relationship between cancer-related fatigue and quality of life. Methods:Gastrointestinal tract cancer patients receiving chemotherapy were investigate by personal interview methods, 100 patients with decreased neutrophile granulocyte after chemotherapy were divided into the control group, while 100 patients with normal neutrophile granulocyte after chemotherapy were divided into the observation group.Demographic characteristic questionnaire and Brief Fatigue Inventory were used. The data analysis were performed by variance analysis of SPSS 17.0 software. Results:(1)Cancer-related fatigue increase significantly after chemotherapy in gastrointestinal tract cancer patients(p<0.01), there was significant statistical difference about cancer-related fatigue of decreased neutrophile granulocyte before and after chemotherapy(p < 0.05),there was no statistical difference about cancer-related fatigue of normal neutrophile granulocyte before and after chemotherapy(p > 0.05).(2) Cancer-related fatigue and neutrophile granulocyte in gastrointestinal tract cancer patients accepting chemotherapy have positive correlation(r=0.473,P<0.01). Cancer-related fatigue increased in patients with decreased neutrophile granulocyte compared with normal neutrophile granulocyte. As neutrophile granulocyte decreased, cancer-related fatigue increase.(3) Cancer-related fatigue and quality of life in gastrointestinal tract cancer patients accepting chemotherapy have significant positive correlation(r=0.676,P <0.01). Conclusion:(1)Cancer-related fatigue increase after chemotherapy in gastrointestinal tract cancer patients with decreased neutrophile granulocyte.(2) Cancer-related fatigue and neutrophile granulocyte have significant positive correlation in gastrointestinal tract cancer patients accepting chemotherapy(p < 0.01).(3) Cancer-related fatigue and quality of life have positive correlation in gastrointestinal tract cancer patients accepting chemotherapy.
