Retrospective Study Of 498 Cases Of Renal Cell Carcinoma In A Single Center

Objective:To explore the clinical features of patients with renal cell carcinoma(R CC).Method:We Retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 498 cases who were operated in First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from Dec.2009 to Dec.2014.Results:A total of 498 cases were reviewed including 327 males(65.5%) and 172 females(34.5%).The ratio was 1.90:1.00.Patients’ age raged from 1to84 years old,with the average age of(53.1±15.9) years old.Radical nephrectomy wa s performed in 325 cases(65.2%),and nephron sparing surgery was performed in 165 cases(34.8%).Laparoscopic operation was performed in 286 cases(57.4%),and o pen operation was performed in 212 cases(42.6%).The regional distribution of RC C were as follows:97 cases(19.4%) were found in southern Xinjiang;while 401 cas es(80.6%) were found in norther Xinjiang.There were 276 Han patients(55.4%),148 ethnic Uyghur patients(29.7%) and 74 in other nationalities(14.9%).In 2010,87 cases were found RCC,and 92 cases(18.5%) were found in 2011.Moreover,RCC w as diagnosed in 81 patients(16.3%) in 2012.Then in 2013 RCC was diagnosed in111 patients(22.3%).At last in 2014,127 patients(25.4%) were found RCC.Conclus ion:The proportion of patients who were incidentally detected renal mass through u ltrasound or CT is increasing.Patients aging 40-70 years old have a high incidence of RCC.The incidence of northern Xinjiang is much high than that of southern Xi njiang.Han patients are more the ethnic Uyghur patients.Open and radical nephrecto my are the main surgical methods,but laparoscopy and nephron sparing surgery hav e become emerging treatments.
