Objective: Gastric cancer is one of the most common human malignancies, from a global incidence ratio, our country Belongs to a high incidence area and has obvious geographical and ethnic differences. Epidemiological research shows that riboflavin deficiency is one of the important causes of gastric cancer, transited by RFT2. The expression of the protein can be a major influence on individual differences. Therefore, Our experiment will study the relationship between RFT2 and gastric cancer. The experiment has two purposes:the first one is to detect the RFT2 protein expression both in gastric cancer and its adjacent stomach tissues; the second is to investigate the expression of riboflavin transporter-2(RFT2)in patient with gastric cancer and analyse its relation between clinical pathologic features. Methods: A total of 60 paraffin-embedded, formalinfixed GC samples and 60 matched cases with normal mucous membranes, immunohist ochemical staining was employed to detect the RFT2 protein expression both in gastric cancer and its adjacent stomach tissues. Results:The expression of RFT2 was significantly lower in gastric cancer tissues than in the adjacent normal tissues( P<0.05).The expression of RFT2 was tightly correlated with histology differentiated degree、TNM stage and Lauren type(P<0.05). No correlations were found between RFT2 expression with gender、nation、age、lymph nodes metastasis and tumor size(P>0.05).Conclusion: By this study we identified that the RFT2 expression is significantly decreased in gastric cancer and correlated with histologic differentiation and TNM stage and Lauren type of gastric carcinoma.
