Objective:To set up a health education program of respiratory function training using solution focused approach, and observe the effect of this program on respiration function of the patients who underwent coronary artery bypass surgery; To Help the patients to improve their compliance of health education, motivation and participation, and promote early recovery.Methods:Solution focused approach, based on the focus of training in respirat ory function in patients with the use of questionnaires and data collection meth od combines quantitative research in this study, we drawn 111 patients who un derwent coronary artery bypass surgery in Department of Cardiac Surgery in a Hospital, a ward is a unit, one ward is named the intervention group (55 pati ents), another ward is the control group (56 patients). The patients in the inter vention group were intervened on respiratory function training perioperatively u sing solution focused approach, and the patients in the control group were edu cated on respiratory function according to the Routine health education model.Two groups of patients were enrolled in the study done by a trained nurse in the preoperative 1-10 days,3-7 days after the first data collection.the characteristics of treating diseases, pulmonary function exercise knowledge score, and the extent and times of pain were collected using Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ), Respiratory function exercise knowledge questionnaire,Visual analogue scale (VAS), respectively; The tidal volume of patients were measured using Respiratory function analyzer.All data were analyzed statistically by SPSS17.0 statistical software package. Descriptive statistics, chi-square test,and t test were used.Results:1.The results of t test showed that The two groups of patients with general information were not statistically significant (.P>0.05).2.The results t test demonstrated that there was statistically difference on partial tidal volume score of the patient and postoperative hospital days in the intervention group and in the control group (P<0.01).3.The results of t test showed that there was statistically difference on pain scores of the patients in these two groups (P<0.01).4.T test result demonstrated that there was significant difference on Respiratory function exercise the master degree of knowledge and pulmonary function exercise compliance and Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire of the patients in these two groups (P<0.01).5.x2 test result demonstrated that there was significant difference on preoperative cough skills to master and postoperative pulmonary complications of the patients in two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion:(1) SFA health education model can relieve the pain of patients with cough after operation.(2) SFA health education model can can guide patients change medical coping style.(3) SFA health education mode allows knowledge to grasp the situation of respiratory function and cough patients improved skills, help improve respiratory function in patients with coronary artery bypass surgery exercise compliance, thus helping to improve the effectiveness of health education.(4) SFA health education model can improve coronary artery bypass surgery in patients with respiratory function of self-management initiative, reduce postoperative pulmonary complications and postoperative hospital stay, the patient length of stay shortened to the benefit of the rehabilitation of patients.Respiratory function training using solution focused approach is a feasible and effective intervention,this model of nursing should be promoted as a new way of health education on respiratory function training in cardiac surgery in future.
