Hypoglycemic Activity Of Aqueous Extract Of Agriophyllum Squarrosum

Natural and Herbal medicines such as the Chinese medicine and the Mongolian medicine are unique by its multi-ingredients, multi-purposes and multi-actions. Furthermore the mechanism of those medicines is suitable for the prevention and treatment of metabolism disorders. Obviously, the diabetes is precisely a systemic chronic metabolic disease. Therefore, a research work of natural medicine for the prevention and treatment of diabetes is expected to develop broadly and its significance are noticed highly. In the situation of Inner Mongolia, the land is rich with Agriophyllum resources, and also this herb is popular to relieve the symptoms of diabetes as well as shows significant effect. However, the hypoglycemic effect of this herb of Agriophyllum has not been researched clearly. This is the reason of the limitation of the clinical application and development of the Agriophyllum. Therefore I have chosen this thesis on Agriophyllum and its hypoglycemic effect as my research object with a purpose to provide experimental data for clinical and research use.First of all, since the water plays a role o fa solvent reflux extraction; Agriophyllum squarrosum extract from itself. Secondly, the SPF male SD rats fed with high fat diet combined injection 45mg · kg-1 low-dose streptozotocin (STZ) induced type Ⅱ diabetes mellitus was prepared, were fed with Agriophyllum squarrosum extract. And under positive control drug metformin continuous gavage 21d, it is observed the Agriophyllum squarrosum extract of hypoglycemic effect.After taking the medicine, the tests such as the blood glucose, blood lipids, superoxide dismutase (SOD), MDA and other indicators were carried out. Also the pancreas were dissected and liver HE staining, the effect Agriophyllum squarrosum extract of the indicators was tested. As the Results, Table Martinez Agriophyllum squarrosum extract of STZ-induced diabetic rats had significant hypoglycemic effect, the lipid metabolism was improved and the body’s antioxidant enzyme activity was increased and the promote islet repairs β cell. The Ability of hypoglycemic mechanism may be scavenging reactive oxygen free radicals by enhancing the body of free radicals. Furthermore, the inhibiting islet β cell damage, promoting pancreatic β cell for repairmen of it.
