Objective: To observe the clinical effect of three kinds of external fixation methods in the treatment of distal radius fracture in traditional Chinese medicine, and provide the basis for clinical treatment. Methods: 145 cases of elderly patients were treated with traditional Chinese manipulation were randomly divided into treatment group, namely sequential therapy group(early splint fixation, local swelling subsided, the replacement for the fixed with plaster), simple splint fixation in the control group, pure gypsum fixed group. 3 groups of patients were followed up for 6 to 12 months after treatment, and the results of the final follow-up were evaluated. Results: there were significant differences between the three groups(P < 0.05). In pain, working conditions, wrist joint activity degree of limb grip strength, imaging examination, treatment group was superior to simple splint fixation group and simple plaster fixation group(P < 0.05). Conclusion: sequential therapy(early splint fixation, local swelling subsided after the replacement of plaster fixation) in the treatment of elderly patients with distal radius fractures better.
