Objective:To Comparative and analysis the effectiveness after treatment on distal radius fractures between plaster and splint external fixation. To evaluation of the clinical results of plaster and small-splint fixation in the distal radius fractures treatment.?Methods: From month1,2018 to December 1,2018,60 cases unstable distal radius fractures were selected, and randomly divided into two groups(group A?B)And the 30 patients in group A were treated with traditional manipulative reduction combined with small-splint fixation,Group B were treated with traditional manipulative reduction combined with plaster fixation,Then the X-ray films(the wrist anteroposterior and lateral film)were taken in the time before treatment and the first day,the first week after the treatment, the third week after the treament, the six week after the treatment.Measured two groups of volar tilt angle, ulnar inclination angle and Radial length. And appropriate adjusted the degree of splints, plaster tightness and fracture location based on X-ray film review the situation and fixed case.meanwhile guide the patients functional exercises. The small-splint,plaster were removed after fractures oncrescence and reach the clinical efficiency. We evaluated wrist joints fixnction by Sarmiento scores and assessed the clinical efficacy synthetically. All the date were analysed by SPSS 20.0 statistical software.?Results:All patients with unstable distal radius fractures were followed up for more than 6 weeks. There was no significant difference in the basic data of gender, age and fibula of diseased side between the two groups. There was no significant difference in ulnar deflection, palm angles of inclination and radial shortening between the two groups before treatment(P > 0.05);There was little difference between the two groups in ulnar deflectio and palm angles of inclination? The reduction of radial shortening loss was found to be less in the splint group than in the gypsum group;there were 15 cases of fragment re-displacement(6 cases in group A and 9 cases in group B).The final results of X-ray comprehensive evaluation were as follows: group A: excellent in 5 cases, good in 19 cases, average in 5 cases, bad in 1 case, the excellent and good rate was 80%;group B: excellent in 4 cases, good in 17 cases, average in 7 cases, bad in 2 cases, the excellent and good rate was 70%.Comparing the Sarmiento score, the data of splint group and gypsum group were compared,P < 0.05,which showed that splint group was better than plaster external fixation group. Conclusion: In the treatment of unstable distal radius fractures in the elderly, small splint external fixation is better than plaster external fixation in maintaining axial stability.
