Objective By observing the clinical efficacy of Willow Chimonanthus Enema combined with acupoint catgut embedding on the treatment of the sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease with damp-heat binder with blood-stasis, evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of Willow Chimonanthus Enema combined with acupoint catgut embedding on the treatment of the sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease with damp-heat binder with blood-stasis, providing a scientific basis for its clinical application. Methods Using randomized controlled method,90 cases of patients that met the inclusion criteria were divided into treatment group and control group. The treatment group received therapy of Willow Chimonanthus Enema combined with acupoint catgut embedding, and the control group were only treated with Willow Chimonanthus Enema. Two groups of patients were treated for 3 courses, score of symptoms and signs before and after treatment were recorded, then comprehensive efficacy, TCM syndrome efficacy, local signs efficacy and comprehensive score changes before and after treatment were compared between the two groups to evaluate the clinical efficacy of treatment. Results After 3 courses of treatment, the efficient of comprehensive efficacy for the treatment group was 93.33%, while 80.00% for the control group; there was significant difference between the two groups through the statistical test (P<0.05), indicating that the comprehensive efficacy of the combination therapy group was significantly higher than that control group. After treatment, TCM syndrome comparison (P<0.05) was statistically significant, the treatment group was better than the control group, but the total efficient was 100%for both which showed no difference. After treatment, the various symptom scores were significantly reduced in the two groups, compared with that before treatment, both showed significant differences (P<0.01); whereas, the treatment group had significant difference (P <0.05) with the control group in terms of improving symptoms and signs. Conclusion For patients with the sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease with damp-heat binder with blood-stasis, both the treatment group and the control group can significantly improve the patient’s symptoms and signs, but compared to the control group, therapy with Willow Chimonanthus Enema combined with acupoint catgut embedding has more significant efficacy than enema therapy alone in improving TCM syndromes as well as symptoms and signs in patients with chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, confirming that therapy with Willow Chimonanthus Enema combined with acupoint catgut embedding has better efficacy on the treatment of the sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease with damp-heat binder with blood-stasis, which is worthy of clinical application. |
