Objective To study the nutritional characteristics of critically ill patients, and to improve the traditional SGA score, so as to establish a nutritional assessment method for patients with severe patients, to provide a theoretical basis for the exploration of the nutritional risk assessment of ICU patients. Methods This study included a total of 101 cases of critically ill patients,12 patients were excluded for less than 3 days, or brain death in patients with advanced cancer, and ultimately into the analysis of 89 cases. We have studied 89 cases of critically ill patients. In patients with ICU within 48 hours after the completion of the SGA score and collect relevant information. And follow-up and prognostic indicators in patients with ICU admitted 30 days after. The tra-ditional SGA score was improved by studying the nutritional characteristics of patients with ICU.Results The risk factors of death were obtained through the traditional SGA evaluation., HR=2.423 P=0.016 95%CI (1.183-4.964) was obtained by the traditional SGA evaluation. OR=4.587 P=0.047 95%CI (1.023-20.570) was used to correct the confounding factors by logistic regression. Within 2 weeks of weight change and food intake, gastrointestinal symp-toms, activities have predictive value for the prognosis. With BMI to reduce the mortality rate increased. On the basis of these patients with nutritional characteristics, improved the traditional SGA score. Conclusion The traditional SGA has predictive value for mortality in patients with ICU, but not entirely suitable for nutritional assessment in patients with severe. Modified SGA score both the severity of the disease, and the prognosis in the patients with predictive value of nutritional history; correct the overestimate of muscle and fat reserves of nutritional risk; abandon for pa-tients with severe nutritional risk prediction of less value to the edema, ascites project. It reveals the product very nutritional therapy for improving prognosis of ICU patients with internal logic. Can be used to evaluate the initial nutritional risk and the development of therapeutic strategies for early nutrition, and has a certain predictive value for the prognosis.
