Objective:The evaluation of cardiac chamber size and some parameters which reflect left and right ventricular systolic and diastolic function by echocardiography in patients with cirrhosis. Our aim is to compare with the normal group to observe the changes of above indexes. Methods:We Selected 66 cases of cirrhosis as experimental group and were graded according to the Child-Pugh classification standard and selected 77 healthy controls as control group. The patients were asked to breath quietly while electrocardiogram was recorded. We chose left ventricular long axis view and apical four chamber view of the heart to measure the parameters. The comparison between experimental group and normal group was made to find the difference of each parameters. Besides, discriminations of left and right ventricular systolic and diastolic function among different levels of cirrhosis patients were also tested. Result:1. The comparison between experimental group and normal group: LAs、LVd、RALd、RVd、AV、PV、IVS、LVPW、RVAW、LVEF、LVSV、A、TAPSE were higher,IVRT、EDT were prolonged, E、E/A、RVFAC 、 Et/At were lower, differences were statistically significant(Pa<0.05).2. The comparison between different levels of experimental group and normal group: LVEF : Child-Pugh A < Child-Pugh B; E/A :Child-Pugh A >Child-Pugh C;RVFAC:Child-Pugh A <Child-Pugh B;Et:Child-Pugh B>Child-Pugh C;At: Child-Pugh A<Child-Pugh B;Et/At: Child-Pugh A>Child-Pugh C;Et/E’: Child-Pugh A<Child-Pugh B, ChildPugh B>Child-Pugh C;Et DT:Child-Pugh A >Child-Pugh C,Child- Pugh B >Child-Pugh C,differences were statistically significant(Pa<0.05). Conclusion:1.Comparing with normal group:(1) the cardiac chamber size enlarge and the thickness of interventricular septum, left ventricular posterior wall and right anterior ventricular wall increase in patients with cirrhosis;(2)the left ventricular ejection fraction and left ventricular stroke volume increase in patients with cirrhosis;(3)the left ventricular diastolic function in patients with cirrhosis decreases(4)the right ventricular global systolic function decrease, and the longitudinal systolic function increase in patients with cirrhosis;(5)the right ventricular diastolic function decrease in patients with cirrhosis.2. The comparison between different levels in patients with cirrhosis:(1)Comparing Child-Pugh grade A with Child-Pugh grade B: LVEF and RVFAC increases while the situation becomes worse;(2)Comparing Child-Pugh grade A with Child-Pugh grade C:left ventricular diastolic function and right ventricular diastolic function decreases while the situation becomes worse.
