Objects To draw weight, fundal height, abdominal girth, and weight gain percentile curves for study areas different group pregnant women by analyzing their pregnancy weight gain situations. To analyze the curves characteristics and compare with gravidogram, then I will give some preliminary advices about gravidogram design. It could provide reference for pregnancy weight management and also provide basis of the health surveillance program further development. Methods Collecting data of basic information and pregnancy weight, fundal height, abdominal girth, and weight gain change of pregnant women in some areas of China. Obtaining pregnancy weight gain by using the statistical description index such as mean, standard deviation, constituent ratio, rate, etc. Getting the different group pregnant women weight gain and weight gain distributive difference by Chi-squared test and ANOVA. The percentiles were calculate to draw weight, fundal height, abdominal girth, and weight gain percentile curves. Building weight gain regression model by using multilevel models. Results Population and economic conditions had obvious difference in this study. The proportion of education level and age were not all the same among study areas. The pre-pregnancy BMI of pregnant women in study areas were different. Most of them was normal pre-pregnancy weight group and then was overweight and low weight group, and the least proportion was obesity group. The weight gain of low weight group was more than overweight and obesity group. The weight gain of urban group was more than rural group. The proportion of weight gain over 15.9kg of low weight group and normal weight group was higher than obesity group, but the proportion of weight gain under 11.4kg was lower than them.Grouping on pregnant women according to the pre-pregnancy BMI and residence. The variation trends of weight, fundal height, abdominal girth, and weight gain percentile curves were not the same, especially for the weight and abdominal girth curves of pre-pregnancy BMI group. Multilevel models showed that the rural residence, low weight before pregnancy, high school/technical secondary school and College degree and above, and the 28-35 years old had positive impacts for weight gain; overweight or obesity before pregnancy and under 18 years old had negative impacts for weight gain. Conclusion It should be evaluated separately by different pre-pregnancy BMI group for weight gain during pregnancy. The weight and abdominal girth curves in current gravidogram should be set the standard separately and the standard reference value needed to be readjusted.
