Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is not only airway inflammatory disease, but also pulmonary vascular disease.Because of age,immobility, and many other factors,the prevalence of pulmonary embolism(PE) in COPD patients increased gradually.But because both clinical symptoms are similar such as cough, chest pain, dyspnea, tachycardia and so on, bring some difficulties to clinical diagnosis and treatment.The misdiagnosis and mortality rate is higher. In recent years, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) and pulmonary embolism (PE) draw more attention. This paper focuses on the pathogenesis,risk factors,the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of COPD with PE were reviewed.
