Research On The Effects Of IL-6 And VEGF In RA Rat’s Blood Serum By Moxibustion On BL23 And ST36

Objective:To observe the effect of moxibusting Shenshu and Zusanli points on the level of IL-6、 VEGF in blood serum of rheumatoid arthritis rats, and discuss the mechanisim of treating RA with moxibustion.Methods:24 SD rats (Sprague-Dawley rats), male and female each half,200±20g weight, were randomly divided into blank control group (hereinafter referred to as the "blank"), RA model group (hereinafter referred to as the "model"), moxibustion treatment group (hereinafter referred to as the "moxibustion"), each group of 8 only. Making the experimental RA model with freund’s complete adjuvant except the"blank". Within 7 days after the building, "moxibustion" began to moxibust in "Shen shu(BL23)", "Zu sanli(ST36)" for 5 minites, with a distance of 2cm, both sides alternately,1 times a day,6 days for a course of treatment, rest 1 day between 2 courses, a total of 3 courses. The "blank" and "model" do not make any treatment. Measure each rat’s both feet with foot volume measuring instrument before building the model and 3,6,9,12,15, 18,21 days after the treatment. After the treatment, using ELISA double clamp method to detect the content of Interleukin-6 (IL-6) and Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) of rat serum.Results:1."Model " feet swelling increased significately (P<0.01) compared with "blank" after building the model; "moxibustion " feet swelling were obviously lower than "model" (P<0.01) after moxibustion treatment.2.Compared with "blank", "model " IL-6 and VEGF content were significately increased (P<0.01); After moxibustion treatment, IL-6 and VEGF of "moxibustion" were significately lower than that of "model" (P<0.01)Conclusion:1. Moxibustion"Shenshu" "Zusanli" can significately relieve rheumatoid arthritis rats feet swelling, has obvious anti-inflammatory effect;2.Moxibustion can reduce rheumatoid arthritis in rats serum IL-6 level, suppress the immune cell differentiation, thus control the development of RA inflammation.3.Moxibustion can reduce rheumatoid arthritis in rats serum VEGF level, stop the angiogenesis, pannus formation, thus improving synovial inflammation.
