Objective:Evaluating clinical curative effect and safety of the intervention of both internal combined with external treatment in TCM on recurrent oral ulcer, aimed to provide some reference opinions for the majority of clinical medical workers’ clinical research and treatment work. Methods:The literatures about randomized controlled trial were searched comprehensively from the major medical databases and web sites, which were related to the intervention of TCM through the way of internal combined with external treatment to treat recurrent oral ulcer. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria set by the beforehand carries on the strict screening, use the Jadad score standard to assess the inclusion literatures’ methodological quality and extract the relevant data while the software Revman5.3 to perform meta-analysis and make a conclusion.Make descriptive analysis on those data which couldn’t be analyzed by meta-analysis.Results:After strict screening eventually into 15 articles. Jadad score results in the literature quality generally is not high only one is 4 points. Except four articles specified no adverse reaction, the rest were not mention security problems. The results are as follows:Pure Chinese medicine treatment group, the forward curative effect of the best treatment outcomes’ proportion and the total effective rate were higher than the control group, and all of the differences were statistically significant. [RR= 1.55, 95%CI(1.11,2.16), P=0.01<0.05; RR=1.25,95%CI(1.01,1.54), P=0.004<0.05]. Traditional Chinese medicine combined with western medicine treatment group, the recent and forward curative effect of the best treatment outcomes’proportion were higher than the control group and 1 year recurrence rate is lower than the control group, and all of the differences were statistically significant[RR=2.78, 95%CI(2.12,3.63), P<0.00001; RR=3.08,95%CI(1.93,4.91),P<0.00001; RR=0.62, 95%CI(0.44,0.87), P=0.005<0.05]. Proprietary Chinese medicine combined with western medicine treatment group, the recent and forward curative effect of the best treatment outcomes’ proportion were higher than the control group, the forward curative effect of total effective rate was higher than the control group, and all of the differences were statistically significant[RR=1.58,95%CI(1.16,2.13), P=0.003<0.05; RR=1.53,95%CI(1.15,2.04), P=0.003<0.05; RR=1.32,95%CI(1.12,1.57), P=0.001 <0.05].The treatment group of intervention of traditional Chinese medicine,3 months’ recurrence rate and 6 months’ recurrence rate were lower than the control group, and all of the differences were statistically significant.[RR=0.64,95%CI(0.50,0.81), P=0.0003<0.05; RR=0.73,95%CI(0.54,0.98), P=0.0003<0.05].Conclusion:According to the evaluation analysis of the literatures, we can think that TCM intervention can improve the recent and forward curative effect of recurrent oral ulcer which was treated by internal and external therapy and can reduce the recurrence rate. But there is not enough evidence to show that TCM intervention treatment can shorten the treatment time and healing time of ulcer wounds, and reduce pain index. We need sample with higher quality, larger amount and multicenter randomized controlled trials to offer solid clinical evidence for investigating the TCM intervention effect on recurrent oral ulcer.
