Objective To explore the clinical application value of self-made externally-used prescription on pelvic inflammation combined with birdpecking moxibustion infrared therapy apparatus in the treatment of sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease (SPID); and to study their influence on patient’s blood viscosity and transudation. Methods 90 cases were selected and randomized into the treatment group, the control group A and control group B. The treatment group was given externally-used prescription on pelvic inflammation combined with birdpecking moxibustion infrared therapy apparatus, the control group A was given externally-used prescription on pelvic inflammation while the control group B was given birdpecking moxibustion infrared therapy apparatus. Clinical symptoms of the patients were observed before the treatment,1 month after treatment and after the end of the treatment, while at the corresponding time, the patients were given gynaecological examination to score the clinical symptoms and signs and calculate the accumulated scores. Blood viscosity test and B ultrasonic examination were also performed and the results were record. Results ①Compared to the control group A and control group B, total effective rate of the treatment group reached 96.7% and the significant effective rate was 70%, which were significantly higher (P=0.012<0.05). All of the three groups have improved effects on lower abdomen pain, abnormal vaginal discharge and lumbosacral pain, and the treatment group was obviously superior to the control groups (P<0.05). ②In terms of improvement on scores of syndromes and signs:1 month after the treatment, the patients had great improvement on scores of syndromes and signs, from 16.40 before the treatment to 4.40 after the treatment. 2 months after the treatment, the syndromes and signs were cured. Score of the syndrome was 2.10 in the treatment group, and the curative effects of the treatment group were obviously better than that of the control group A and control group B (P=0.000<0.01). ③In terms of pelvic effusion: average scores of pelvic effusion was 1.25 in 30 patients of the treatment group before the treatment observed by B ultrasound. It was improved 1 month after the treatment, with the average value decreased to 0.6600.2 months after the treatment, the pelvic effusion was basically cured, with the average value of 0.25.1 month after the treatment, the curative effects of the treatment group were significantly better than that of the control group A (P=0.000<0.001), and were not significantly different with that of the control group B (P=0.904>0.05). But 2 months after the treatment, the treatment group and the control group B were obviously different in pelvic effusion (P=0.02<0.05). ④In terms of blood viscosity: the whole blood viscosity of patients were greatly improved 1 month after the treatment, but not significant (compared to the control group A: P=0.06>0.05; compared to the control group B:P=0.485>0.05).2 months after the treatment: the whole blood viscosity of patients was remarkably improved. The curative effects of the treatment group were significantly better than the control group A (P=0.000<0.01) and the control group B (P=0.001<0.05).Conclusion Self-made externally-used prescription on pelvic inflammation combined with birdpecking moxibustion infrared therapy apparatus can better improve the clinical symptoms of SPID, reduce inflammatory exudation, and promote the absorption of pelvic effusion.
