A Retrospective Clinical Study Of Endo- Decortications Surgery For Renal Cystic Diseases By Flexible Ureterscope With Holium Laser

Objective:Laparoscopic treatment is the gold standard treatment for renal cystic diseases, however, ureteroscopic treatment is less invasive. Our aim was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of renal cystic diseases endo-decortication surgery by flexible ureterscope with Holium laser.Methods:A retrospective review of 42 cases of renal cystic diseases between January,2013 to January,2015 was done.42 patients concluding 32 cases of single renal cyst and 10 cases of Autosomal-Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease or multiple renal cyst(mean 5.3cm in diameter), male 24 and female 18, average age 47.7 years old, had undergone endo-decortication by flexible ureterscope. With laryngeal mask anesthesia, Olympus electronic flexible ureterscope (Fr8.5/9.9) accessed pelvis retrogradely and decorticated renal cyst with 200um Holium laser to drinage the cyst to pelvis. Double J stent was placed at the end of procedure.Results:All operations were successful without severe complications. The mean operating time were 24.8min (13-56min).In 3-48 month followup,35 patients’renal cyst had been undetectable in ultrsound or CT scan,7 patients’cystic or renal volume had been diminished obviously, and no case had relapsed.Conclusion:As an NOTES, endo-decortication of renal cystic diseases by flexible ureterscope with Holium laser is effective, minimal invasive and safe, though long term followup is still needed.
