The Research On Internet Health Information Readability Based On The Chinese Characters Level

ObjectiveTo investigate the status of readability of health information on internet and find out factors that affecting the health information readability level for health information disseminators’ health information publishing and editing, as well as information users’ information choosing.MethodsThe NLPIR Chinese word segmentation system was used to get the segmentation of the top 30 health information web browser. The readabilities of health information were detected by SQL sever database from the perspective of the Chinese characters lexicon and special words. How do the external characteristics of internet health information affecting on health information readability was analyzed.ResultsThe survey found that the value of internet health information sentence per hundred words is 0.91 to 3.64 and the number of rare words per hundred words was 20 around, which was far more than value of general Chinese material. In addition, there were excessive medical terminology, bad page presentation and the low value of text emotion and so on.ConclusionThe value of internet health information sentence length per one hundred words is too large. There are many long sentences and the rare words per hundred words containing in texts. The readability difficulty level of the internet health information is significantly higher than the readability difficulty level of the general Chinese material.
