Study On The Influential Factors Of Burden Of The Main Caregiver On Caregiving The Uygur And Kazak’s Disability Elderly

Object: By evaluating the level of caregiving burden of the main caregivers on caregiving the Uygur and Kazak’s disability elderly, to understand the related factors of the caregiving burden of the main caregivers.In order to provided a reference for the caregiving burden interventions of the main caregivers on caregiving the Uygur and Kazak’s disability elderly.Methods:The main methods are quantitative research and qualitative research.The quantitative study is conducted through multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of 621 caregivers who caregiving on the Uygur and Kazak’s disability elderly. The data of 621 caregivers are collected by questionnaire survey.Qualitative study is conducted through semi-structured interviews for a deep understanding of the level of the caregiving burden of the main caregivers.Results: 1. 50.1% caregivers among ethnic minorities had different level burden, the economic burden is the most serious level and the mental burden is the lightest when compared the standardized scores of the four dimensions of ZBI. The multiple liner regression analysis indicated that: residence, the income of the children, disability severity, the outcome on caregiving, the relationship between the caregiver and the disability elderly, others participate in care, cognitive function, ability of care and have the help from the community agency were important influence factors of the ethnic minorities caregivers’ burden. 2. The knowledge was incomplete grasp, the high level of the attitude and the practice was so singleness;The score of the KAP is negatively correlated to the socre of caregiving burden. 3. The care needs of the main caregivers of the ethnic minorities is the high level. The economic assistance, medication safety guidance for the elderly, regular lectures for the main caregivers, physical discomfort guidance for the elderly, knowledge guidance related to diseases of the elderly are urgent. The total score of care needs is positively correlated with the score of caregiving burden.Conclusion:1.The economic burden is the most seriously of the main caregivers of the Uygur and Kazak’s disability elderly, so the government departments should cut down the medical expenses to reduce the caregiving burden. 2. disability severity, cognitive function, residence, the income of the children, the outcome on caregiving, the relationship between the caregiver and the disability elderly, others participate in care, ability of care and have the help from the community agency were important influence factors of the ethnic minorities caregivers’ burden.3. Shooul take the economic assistance, medication safety guidance for the elderly, regular lectures for the main caregivers, physical discomfort guidance for the elderly, knowledge guidance related to diseases of the elderly as the breakthrough points, in order to enrich and reinforcement the caregiving knowledge of the caregivers, chang the simplex caregiving practice, and promote the ability of care, the final purpose is to reduce the caregiving pressure.
