Objective To explore the feasibility of Tei index(TI)measured by realtime dual Doppler modality in evaluating the normal fetal left and right ventricular function. Methods This was a study of ultrasound examinations from forty normal singleton pregnancies at 19-38 weeks’ gestation. The left ventricular TI of twenty cases were measured by single separated and simultaneous pulsed wave Doppler(PD)and dual Doppler modality(DD),respectively. The right ventricular TI of another twenty cases were measured by single separated PD and DD,respectively. The repeatability and consistency of the measurement were analyzed by intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC) and Bland-Altman plot.Results.. Campared with single separated and simultaneous PD,The left and right TIs of intra-/inter-operator consistency were the highest when using the DD approaches, mean difference±standard deviation(d±SD) were 0.00250±0.01293( 95%CI,-0.00355~0.00855),-0.00250±0.01333( 95%CI,-0.00874~0.00374) and 0.00200±0.01989( 95%CI,-0.01131~0.00731), 0.00150±0.02346( 95%CI,-0.00948~0.01248),respectively. intra- /inter-operator reproducibility was the highest when performing DD measurements. The intraclass correlation coefficient of left and right ventricular TI for intra- and inter-observer measurements were 0.958(95% CI,0.894~0.983),0.962(95% CI,0.906~0.985)and 0.875(95% CI,0.690~0.950),0.878(95% CI,0.697~0.951),respectively.Conclusion The dual Doppler modality is a reliable technique for measuring fetal left and right ventricular TI and demonstrates excellent reproducibility functions. And it can be applied in the studies of clinical fetal cadiac function. Objective To explore the clinical value of Tei index(TI)and related parameters measured by realtime dual Doppler modality in evaluating the fetal left and right ventricular function in pre-eclampsia.Methods According to American college of.Obstetricians and Gynecologists(ACOG)categories, objects of this study were divided into three groups.Sixty fetuses of healthy mothers were assigned as the control group(Group I) while.30.fetuses.of.mildly.pre-eclamptic.mothers.constituted.Group.II.and.30.fetuses.of.severely.pre-eclamptic.mothers.constituted.Group III.TI.was.generated.from.the.sam e.fetal.cardiac.cycle.by.dual.Doppler.modality.The.fetal..left.and.right.Ventricular.isovo lumic contraction time(ICT),ejection time(ET),isovolumic relaxation time(IRT) and TI were obtained, and compared TI and the related parameters in the three groups.Results. The.Left and.Right.ventricular.TI.Have no significant Correlation.with. gestational.age.and.fetal.heart.rate(P>0.05).The.left..ventricular.TI.of.group.I,II,III.were.0.334±0.060,0.342±0.084,0.467±0.093,respectively,The..right.ventricular.TI.of.group.I,II,III.were.0.371±0.096,0.380±0.087,0.531±0.109,respectively.The.left.and.right.ventric ular.TI.of.group.I,II,III.were.increased(.P<0.001). There was a significant difference between group I and group II(P<0.001), and also between group III and group II(P<0.001).There was no difference between group II and group I(P>0.05).The.left.and.right.ventricular.ICT.and.IRT.of.group.I,II,III.were.increased(.P<0.001). There was a significant difference between group I and group II(P<0.001), and also between group III and group II(P<0.001).There was no difference between group II and group I(P>0.05).The.left.and.right.ventricular. ET.of.group.I,II,III.were.reduced, but there was no difference among these groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Tei index and related parameters measured by dual Doppler modality was easy and valuable for estimating fetal biventricular integral functions.
