Objective:To analyze the antianginal patents’ literature, so as to provide related research and development directions to market analysts and researchers. Methods:The data were retrieved from Derwent Innovation Index database and Chinese Patent database. Patent Information Analyzing methods such as IPC classification analysis, main applicant analysis, patentee analysis, technology life cycle analysis, cluster analysis and citation analysis were used to explore the implied intelligence. Results:Application of antianginal patents began to decline until 2005 of our country. The service invention of patent application number accounted for 64%. The R&D of antianginal domain lay high emphasis on genetic engineering, new molecular targets and health care aspects around the basic research and development of formulation and compounds. China’s R&D technology has a trend of matured. R&D in antianginal field has already entered matured state. China, Denmark, The United States, Russia were the major states in anti-anginal drug research. Foreign researches of antianginal domain concentrated in the following aspects respectively ①Anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer technology field,②Arm, booster field, in addition to health food sector, ③prebiotics / probiotics or inhibitors other than vitamins, ④Combination therapy field, ⑤Gene field engineering, recombinant cells, ⑥Coronary artery and ischemic field. Conclusions:From an international point of view, the R&D of antianginal drug based on traditional therapy of coronary artery, in the mean time imposed high emphasis on the study of the health related biological agents, combination therapy and genetic engineering. Anti-anginal drug research and development has matured, but we not mean that there’s no more innovation room exist, hypertension vaccine, genetically recombinant antithrombin and new molecular targets are good cases of further innovation. With the development of genetic pharmacology and molecular pharmacology studies, more acute treatment means will become possible which broadened the research and development.
