Objective To monitor Bartonella infection in rodents in Fuzhou harbor and master Bartonella genotype, characteristics and variability.Methods From Feb.2013 to Jan.2014 random sampling four monitoring points in Fu-zhou harbor, rodents captured by cage were classified and identified. PCR was used to detect Bartonella and the products were sequenced and phylogenetic analysis. Simulta-neously detection of Bartonella co-infection with common rodent pathogens: the nested RT-PCR was used to detect Hantavirus;PCR was used to test Leptospira;the reverse indirect hemagglutination test were used to detect the plague F1 antigen,and the indirect hemagglutination were used to detect the plague F1 antibody. Results A total of 212 rodents were captured and identified, which belong to 4 spe-cies of 3 genera,2 families and 2 orders. Density of rodents was 2.31%. There were 89 Rattus flavipectus,which were dominant species. Bartonella infection rate was 0.94%.Phylogenetic analysis showed that one sequence similarity to B.taylorii was 98%,the other to B. tribocorum 99%.8 rodents were positive Hantavirus and the infection rate was 3.77%. 5 rodents were positive Leptospira and the infection rate was 2.36%,Y.pestis was negative. Bartonella,hantavirus,leptospirosis, Y.pestis co-infection rodents were not detected. 2 rodents were co-infected by Hantavirus and Leptospira, and the infection rate was 0.94%. Conclusions Bartonella infection in rodents exists in Fuzhou harbor. With human disease genotype,there was risk of transmitting this pathogen to human. Its prevalence requires further investigation.In addition,rodent infection rate is high by Hantavirus and Leptospira in Fuzhou harbor.
