As a kind of medical equipment assisting and substituting for physiological breath, the ventilator has been widely used in various medical environment, such as ICU and operating room etc. With the comprehensive understanding of respiratory theory, the gradually miniaturization of equipments and the improvement of electronic technology, respirator is used more and more frequent. So respirator occupies an important position in current medical field. But,the respirator expose some defects, like asynchrony breathing and ventilator lung etc.Additionally, domestic ventilator is far behind abroadventilator,so that the price of ventilator is very high.It is necessary that we develop a kind of inexpensive and multifunctional ventilatortriggered by electrical activity of the diaphragm. We make a comparison between traditional ventilator with ventilator triggered by electrical activity of the diaphragm. We briefly introduce the development trend of future ventilator and basically determine the design goal. The entire project consists of three parts:acquisition module, control module and display module. We mainly discuss the design of favorable GUI and communication interface in this paper. We introduce the structure of display module and element selection, circuit design and specific implementation process. We consider that ventilator is used in particular field and it is multifunctional,so we select the LPC3250 as the MCU of panel module. We choose the ARM-MDK development kits as the software development platform of panel module, because ARM-MDK kits contain μVision IDE,RTOS-RTX and rich middleware. After we compare and analyze the GUI of popular ventilators,we legitimately plan and design the comfortable and easy-to-use GUI.
