Objectives:Through the comparison of signs and symptoms before and after intervention in patients with metabolic syndrome, study the effect of the comprehensive nutrition intervention and the effect of dietary fiber to explore the reasonable alternatives of clinical treatment and self management mode.Method:In total,70 women who meet diagnostic criteria for the metabolic syndrome were randomized to two groups.None of them took drugs related with metabolic syndrome.Intervention group was given activation oat dietary fiber 30 g/d which containing30% of the total dietary fiber and exercise and diet therapy. Control group was only treated with exercise and diet therapy. The experiment lasted for 4 months.Make personalized diet according to the personal situation for each volunteer and equip with pedometer for them.Follow-up for every 10 days.Examed before the intervention,2 and 4 months after intervention, respectively.Physical examination, the human body composition analysis and Blood biochemical item were included. There are 3 patients lost to follow-up.Results:1.The average energy intake is 1935.9kcal,before the intervention. The average energy intake reduced 23.7%,and no adverse reactions were well tolerated during the experiment.2.After 2 months of intervention, the difference of body weight, body mass index, waist circumference, hip circumference, waist-to-hip ratio of intervention group had significance compared with pre-intervention.In addition to the difference of HDL-C, other blood lipid parameter were significant. The difference of blood glucose and insulin were also significant.3.After the experiment, the difference of BMI, waist circumference, waist hip ratio, body fat percentage, visceral fat index,skinfold,TC,LDL-C and 2HPG in OGTT between the two groups were significance. Conclusions:Dietary fiber reinforcement intervention can effectively help lose weight, promote distribution of fat, blood sugar and lipid levels. This study cannot prove that dietary fiber reinforcement can effectively improve the blood uric acid and serum insulin level.Diet, exercise and dietary fiber reinforced intervention model are suitable for clinical treatment of the metabolic syndrome and patient self-management.It is worthy of popularization and application.
