Objective:This study aimed at evaluating the relationship between the content of glucose and prognosis.Methods:400 cases of children admitted to the Tancheng First People’s Hospital in Shandong Province with hand, foot and mouth disease selected as research object. Those patient children were divided into normal control group(100 patients), the non severe hand, foot and mouth disease group(HFMD normal)(120 patients), the severe hand, foot and mouth disease group(HFMD severe)(228 patients), and the critical hand, foot and mouth disease group(HFMD critical)(52 patients). Venous blood in the four groups were taken in the early morning on an empty stomach. The children’s prognoses were followed up. And the relationship between the content of glucose and the prognosis was established. Results:Therir was significant correlation between the severity of hand foot and mouth disease and, along with the intensification of the disease, blood glucose increased, blood glucose monitoring of HFMD early diagnosis and prognosis for children with the condition that.Blood glucose level when fasting among the normal cases(5.68 ±1.52mmol/L)and the server cases(7.86±1.81mmol/L) and the critical cases(17.49±3.82mmol/L) were significantly higher than that of the normal cases(P<0.01).Conclusion :The severity of the HFMD disease is significantly related with the content of the blood glucose. The level of the blood glucose increased when the disease became deteriorate.
