Background: Chronic Low Back Painhas been one of the most prevalent symptoms, which may be induced by the degeneration of facet joints. It has been reported 15%-40% patients with chronic LBP are caused by the degeneration of facet joints. More recently, degeneration of facet joints has become a hot spot. However, the special mechanisms in FJOA induced- chronic LBP still remains unknow. Objective: To investigate the mechanisms in FJOA induced- chronic LBP, the correlation between FJOA and the degree of pain and provide a theoretical support for the clinical treatment. We make a large sample size study in patients with chronic chronic LBP. Meanwhile, effects of FJOA-source inflammatory factors in chronic chronic LBP also be described by a varieties of qualitative and quantitative means. Methods and Materials Relevant research between radiographic grading of FJOA and low back pain level 862 cases of chronic low back pain patients were selected, all of whom underwent CT and MRI examination, and detailed records of the general condition of the patients were required; then we screened 68 cases of the patients definitely diagnosed with FJOA low back pain; Weishuapt image classification criteria for assessing FJOA; Videman MRI grading criteria of disc height loss for assessing the degree of disc height loss; complete and trusted back pain scale(Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), the Oswestry Disability Index(ODI), JOA score and Roland-symptoms Morris Disability Questionnaire(RDQ)) for assessing the symptoms of patients. This research was focused on the relationship between radiographic grading of FJOA and low back pain level, as well as multivariate analysis of severe FJOA low back pain.Results(1) We classified different radiographic grading patients into( 1, 2, 3) 3groups, after comparing VAS, ODI, JOA, RDQ scores of the patients in three groups, we found that there was statistically significant difference(P <0.05); it showed that there was positive correlation between VAS, ODI, RDQ scores and radiographic grading of FJOA; while there was negative correlation between JOA score and radiographic grading of FJOA.(2) Among patients with severe back pain, although FJOA was the main reason(OR 8.78), the influence of DHN(OR 3.98), age(OR 1.09) and BMI(OR 1.39) on low back pain cannot be ignored. Conclusions: FJOA was one of the impotant factors leads to CLBP. In patients with FJOA-source backache, their imaging grade had a positive correlation with symptoms. However, it should also be noticed that effects of disc height reduction, age and BMI on back pain.
