Objectives To investigate the clinical features and prognosis factors of patients with drug-induced liver failure(DILF) in ningxia medical university general hospital, nearly a decade, wanting to improve clinical physicians understanding of drug-induced liver failure and reduce the probability of occurrence of adverse. Methods The clinical data of 42 DILF patients who were admitted to our hospital from Jan.2004 to Nov.2013 were reviewed, and the drug use, clinical manifestations, complications, biochemical factors, and prognosis of those patients were analyzed. Results The mainly 3 kinds of drugs causing DILF were herbal medicines(38.1%),anti-tuberculosis drugs(30.9%),Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and dietary supplements(11.9%) in the third. The 3 tops underlying complications were ascites(76.2%),hepatic encephalopathy(71.4%),eletrolyte disorder(66.7%).A total of 12 cases(28.6) of the patients were cured and improved. Conclusion The drugs causing DILF mainly are herbal medicines,anti-tuberculosis drugs and analgesic drugs. The clinical features are not specific, hepatic encephalopathy and upper gastrointestinal bleeding are related to the bad prognosis. In present, there is no specific effective treatment here and there, the cure rate is low and the prognosis is poor, therefore, clinical doctors should be monitored closely during the process of clinical medicine drugs liver function.
