Objective To explore expression feature and correlation of cyclin D1 and EGFR in bilateral primary breast cancer and unilateral primary breast cancer, and to analysis clone relation between first bilateral primary breast cancer and second bilateral primary breast cancer. Methods: Collection of bilateral primary breast cancer paraffin block specimens from 9 patients, and randomly selected 10 patients with unilateral breast cancer specimens as control. Immunohistochemistry(Envision method) was applied to detect expression of cyclin D1 and EGFR in first bilateral primary breast cancer, second bilateral primary breast cancer and unilateral breast cancer. Results: Expression rates of cyclin D1 in first bilateral primary breast cancer, second bilateral primary breast cancer and unilateral breast cancer are 6/9(66.7%), 7/9(77.8%) and 5/10(50%) respectively. Expression rates of EGFR in first bilateral primary breast cancer, second bilateral primary breast cancer and unilateral breast cancer are 8/9(88.9%), 8/9(88.9%), 8/10(80%) respectively. Synchronous positive expression of cyclin D1 in first bilateral primary breast cancer and second bilateral primary breast cancer happens in 6 cases, synchronous negative expression happens in 2 cases. Synchronous positive expression of EGFR in first bilateral primary breast cancer and second bilateral primary breast cancer happens in 8 cases, synchronous negative expression happens in zero case. Conclusion: There is no difference between expression of cyclin D1 in first bilateral primary breast cancer and unilateral breast cancer. There is also no difference between expression of EGFR in first bilateral primary breast cancer and unilateral breast cancer. There is mono-clone relation between70-90﹪ of first bilateral primary breast cancer and second bilateral primary breast cancer. There is no correlation between expression of cyclin D1 and EGFR in breast cancer.
