Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy ofradical focus debridement, bone graft and instrumentation surgical treatment of multiple lumbosacral tuberculosis with regular chemotherapy. Materials and Methods: Retrospective analysis from January 2010 to October 2014,32 patients suffering from multiple lumbosacral tuberculosis who were hospitalizedin Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University. Anti-TB Medication treatment was given for at least 14 days, then for surgical treatment, and the medication treatment lasted for 12 months postoperatively. Preoperative and last follow-up observation lumbosacral angle, Visual analog scale(VAS) score, Frankel grade, to evaluate back pain symptoms, bone fusion, functional recovery during follow-up.Results: No postoperative complication was noted. No neurovascular injury, instrument failure and tuberculosis recurrence was noted. All patients’ operative time was 150 ~ 500 min, the average 241.7min.All patients were followed up for 6-33 months. At final follow-up,back pain VAS score was 0.16±0.37,Frankel Grade improved by 0 to 2 grades. The mean last follow-up lumbosacral angle was 27.5±3.54. The fusion periods were 3~12 month. Conclusion: Multiple lumbosacral tuberculosis can be cured by radical focus debridement, bone graft, instrumentation surgy and chemotherapy.
