Objectives To analysis the main factors that lead to depression in the patients with depression after stroke. Methods A total of 396 patients were participated in our research who have diagnosed with stroke and treatmented in the Affiliated Hospital of Hebei United University in June2013 to March 2014.PSD was assessed by MMADD, the basic condition of the patient was used self-designed questionnaire to collect clinical data analysis of relevant factors. 396 questionnaires were valid at last, After which 176 stroke patients who have diagnosed with depression were treated as the case group, the others who have not suffered with depression were treated as the control group. Then use the excel software to establish a database, SPSS13.0 statistical software was used to analysised the main factors after verification.Using the chi-square test for univariate analysis and the Logistic regression analysis for multivariate analysis. Results 1 The univariatean alysis showed that:BMI, personalitytype, premorbid lab or intensity, the way of work, premorbid working environment, the family income and expenditure, living environment, density lipoprotein cholesterol, APGAR, social support,ADL, sleeping quality, chronic disease, first/relapse, the left/non-left side, pref rontal/not, multiple lesions/not, NIHSS, speech dysfunction/ not, balance dysfunctio n/not, those above mentioned factors are related to PSD(P<0.05). 2 The Logistic regression analysis showed that: family income and expenditure, ADL, BMI, prem orbid laborinten-sity, premorbid working environment, sleepping quality, living envir onment, density lipoprotein, cholesterol, APGAR, socialsupport, first/relapse,the left/non leftside, prefrontal/not, NIHSS, speech dysfunction/not, balance dysfunction/not chronic disease, those above mentioned factors are related to PSD(P<0.05).Conclusions In summary, the reasons for post-stroke depression as followings:BMI, premorbid labor intensity, premorbid working environment, family income and expenditure, living environment, density lipoprotein cholesterol, APGAR, social sup-port, ADL, sleeppingquality, first/relapse, theleft/nonleft side, prefrontal/not,NIHSSs peech dysfunction/not,chronic disease, balance dysfunction/not.Our study reminded us that making ends meet, high quality residential environment, normal plasma high-densitylipoprotein cholesterol concentration, harmonious family relationship, feel more social support, patients with first-episode, nerve function defect degree of light are the protective factors for PSD. Overweight, engaged in heavy manual labor, hard working conditions, low activities of dailyliving(ADL),focusin left hemisphere, occurre in the frontal lobe, words barrier function, balance function barrier, merging chronic diseases are the risk reasons for PSD.
