Objective:to retrospectively analyze the database of our department in order to observe the clinical efficacy of selective devascularization practiced in portal hypertension (PHT) patients with portal vein thrombosis.Methods:15 clinical cases of PHT patients with portal vein thrombosis out of a total number of 428 PHT patients who underwent selective devascularization in recent years (1997.3-2012.1) were retrospectively analyzed and long-term followed up after surgery. The postoperative mortality, postoperative gastrointestinal rebreeding probability and the occurrence of postoperative complications of those patients were thoroughly analyzed. Results:the total disease incidence was 3.5%(15/428), postoperative mortality was 0 in the 1st year,6.7% in the 5th year,13.3% in the 9th year, postoperative gastrointestinal rebreeding probability was 0 in the 1st year,13.3% in the 5th year, 13.3%in the 9th year, the occurrence of postoperative complications was 26.7%(4/15), the long-term postoperative liver function (1 year later) was significantly improved (P < 0.01), postoperative FPP value was (40±7) cmH20, compared with (50±9) cmH20 before operation, it was also significantly reduced (P<0.05)Conclusion:selective devascularization can not only be performed in PHT patients with portal vein thrombosis but also obtain good clinical results.
