The Pharmaceutical Study Of Hospital Preparations On Zaoxing Xiaozhong Zhixue Powder

The prescription of Zaoxing detumescence styptic powder is originated from folk recipe containing several Chinese herbs, such as paris polyphylla or white rhizoma paridis,processed rhizoma arisaematis, bistort or red rhizoma paridis, rhizoma kaempferiae and camphor. This powder possesses clearing heat, detoxification, reducing swelling and hemostatic efficacy. It is used in furuncle and carbuncle caused by stasis of heat and toxin,Qi stagnation and blood stasis. Moreover, external application of its powder on the affected part has a significant clinical effect.In this paper we adopted the combination of modern pharmaceutical technology and traditional technology under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine theories. In keeping with its efficacy, Zaoxing detumescence styptic powder was explored to a hospital agent with safe, effective, quality controllable and convenient characters. This paper studiespreparation process, quality standard and preliminary stability of the prescription.Combining traditional technology with modern pharmaceutical technology, paris polyphylla, processed rhizoma arisaematis, bistort, rhizoma kaempferiae, camphor and some Chinese herbs were crushed into the fine powder respectively, then mixed well to form “Zaoxing detumescence styptic powder” and subsequently examined its fluidity and hygroscopicity. The sterilization process of this powder was studied along with three batches of verification via pilot magnification in order to prove the stability and feasibility of this process.Through modern analysis technology, the systematic study on characters, microscopic identification, thin-layer identification, granularity, moisture content, appearance evenness,loading quantity, active ingredient content and microbial limit test of Zaoxing detumescence styptic powder was performed. A comprehensive system of quality standards of this Chinese herbal preparation was also established, which effectively controlled the inherent quality of Zaoxing detumescence styptic powder.Accordingto“Technical Guidelines for Stability Studyof TraditionalChinese Medicines andNatural Medicinal Products”, and taking the quality standards of Zaoxing detumescencestyptic powder as testing basis, its stability was investigated preliminarily through observing test under room temperature and accelerated test. The results showed that the observed indexes were not significantly changed, which indicated that the quality of Zaoxing detumescence styptic powder was stable during the inspection period.This study provides a pharmaceutical basis for the exploration of the hospital agent of Zaoxing detumescence styptic powder and establishes the foundation for the future exploration of the hospital agent of Zaoxing detumescence styptic powder.
