BackgroundThe experience of the goverments of the countries around the world shows that social organization is an important force in fighting HIV/AIDS involving in AIDS prevention and control work, playing the key role in the field of AIDS prevention and control.This study intends to understand the living status of community organizations, their difficulties and challenges, then find the advantages and disadvantages in the process of its development through survey of AIDS community organizations.to provide advice to the development of HIV/AIDS community organizations and reference basis for the policy department formulating relevant laws and regulations. ObjectiveTaking Henan province as an example to analyse the existing situation of community organizations and its results obtained involving in HIV/AIDS prevention and control.Facing up the change of situation and environment, we explore the deficiency and the moment problems and challenges of the community organizations involved in AIDS prevention. MethodsAdopting the method of integral sampling to explore 89 community organizations extracting from the global fund AIDS project in henan province community organization project from February 2012 to March 2014. We convey the study by questionnaire investigation using Spss11.5 for data analysis, descriptive statistics, 2x test, the multi-factor stepwise regression analysis and other analysis methods. Results 1.The present situation of the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS community organizationsDuring the 80 community organizations, 10% of the organizations are registered; 87.5% of organizations said they need a fixed office space, but only 61.25% of organizations have fixed office space.Of all the 1940 workers,the all-time staff occupied9.2%,part-time staff 18.35%,volunteers 72.62%.91.25% of the oganizations’ fund come from the global communities.2. The condition of the community organization staff’s HIV/AIDS related knowledgeThe employee’s HIV/AIDS related knowledge comprehensive score is confined 20 points lowest, 100 points highest, the average score is 71 points. The higher the degree, the higher the AIDS knowledge scores. The easier to understand publicity materials and the longer the staff’s work time,the higher the knowledge score. 3. The effect of the community organizations’ participating in AIDS prevention and control of the control2xTest results show that after intervention the condom usage rate has increased among the MSM crowd, intravenous drug users’ sharing needle injection rate decreased; Commercial sex workers and intravenous drug users’ HIV infection rates have ascended slowly, sexually MSM HIV infection rate is still having an obvious rising trend. ConclusionThe effect of the community organizations’ preventing AIDS is obvious and the community organization is a supplied role to the government. But most of the organizations are working as less legal identity.Related departments should reduce community organizations’ registering access standards,perfect the relevant laws and regulations,encourage community organizations to involve in preventing AIDS. The capital source channel of the organizations is too single,the government should broaden the channels of funding sources, improve the funding sources’ status quo and form their own perfect capital management system.They also should improve the special level of organization staff. Playing a "hub" social organization’s typical leading role and taking advantage of its incubation cultivation level of society are conducive to positively guide the development of local community organization sization, to increase universal coverage of the HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment,to become an cooperate force, to curb the spread of HIV/AIDS epidemic more effectivly.
