Background and Objective:Since the 1990s, the breast cancer has been one of the serious threat to women’s health malignant tumor in many countries around the world, and the incidence is rising year by year. Even in the economically developed European and American countries, the disease incidence is still very high while the mortality rate is decreasing. However, the incidence and mortality rate of breast cancer have shown the increasing trend in our country, and the increasing rate has exceeded the average of the worldwide. Especially, in the first-tier cities, such as Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, the increasing trend become more obvious. The breast cancer has become severe threat to Chinese women. Currently, many countries have started to study the epidemic of breast cancer, and also some relevant reports have been published from some advanced provinces in china. However, the epidemic of breast cancer has been seldom reported in Yunnan province. The relevant preventing measures could not be taken on unless the characteristic of epidemic disease have been well studied. Based on today’s boom "big data", the huge patient’s data could be available for us to study the general and clinical information of epidemic. Then after statistical analysis, the data could be available for our research. Herein, on one hand, the characteristic of breast cancer could be studied according to the basic information of patients, such as the age, nationality, occupation, surgery and so on several aspects. On the other hand, study will focus on whether the malignant tumor could affect the patient’s blood glucose and platelet, and also the relationship between the breast cancer and diabetes mellitus. Furthermore, chemotherapy is the most important treatment for breast cancer patients, severe side effect which caused by chemotherapy drugs would be paid more attention. Hence, it is necessary to study whether chemotherapy could result in the increasing blood glucose even diabetes mellitus and whether it could lead to increase platelet which could accelerate the thrombosis.Materials and Methods:The clinical medical records of 1345 cases breast cancer patients who firstly hospitalized and pathologically diagnosed by The Tumor Hospital of Yunnan Province from January 1,2013 to June 30,2014, to analyze the general charateristics and clinical features of the breast cancer in Yunnan province by descriptive epidemiology methods. The data includes the general information of age, ethnic group, occupation, region, male breast cancer and operation methods, the clinical information of blood glucose and platelet before and after treatment of patients. All of the data have been analyzed by Excel and SPSS 19.0 statistical package. Then the results have been tested by chi-square test, t test, Wilcoxon and Kruskal-Wallis, inspection level of a=0.05.Results:There are 14843 cases of primary malignant tumor patients who sought medical advice for the first time from January 1,2013 to June 30,2014. And 1345 cases among them are breast tumor patients, which accounts for 9.06% of all patients with malignant tumor. In my study, the constituent ratios of breast cancer patients between the Yunnan province represented by our hospital and whole country(7.37%) has a statistical difference. The comparison result of average age of breast cancer of Han nationality and minority did not show statistical significance(p=0.225),so we can not claim them have difference. The percentage of male breast cancer patients is accounted for 0.67% of the total patients in Yunnan province, which is below the national average of 1%. There is statistical difference on average blood glucose between breast cancer patients and without breast cancer patients (p=0.026). The average blood glucose of breast cancer patients after chemotherapy is higher than that before chemotherapy, and the comparison is statistically significant difference (p=0.018). There is statistical difference on average platelet between breast cancer patients and without breast cancer patients (p=0.002). The comparison of platelet of breast cancer patients before and after chemotherapy do not show statistical significance (p=0.147). Therefore, the difference on platele of breast cancer before and after chemotherapy can not be claimed.Conclusions:1.The constituent ratios of breast cancer patients acctount for malignant tumor patients in Yunnan province is 9.06%, it is higher than the national’s(7.37%);2.The female breast cancer patients in Yunnan province are mainly concentrated in 45 to 50 years of age.Among them, the middle-aged female breast cancer patients which age 35 to 60 years old;3.1n the constituent ratios of Han nationality and ethnic minorities, the constitution of breast cancer of ethnic minority is less than Han nationality in account, and the ratio is close to 1:7.5. We can not claim them have difference because the comparison result of average age of breast cancer of Han nationality and minority do not show statistical significance;4.The percentage of male breast cancer patients is accounted for 0.67% of the total patients in Yunnan province, and the level of national’s is 1%;5.The average blood glucose of breast cancer patients is higher than without breast cancer patients’s,we can consider there is a correlation between the breast cancer and hyperglycemia;6.The average blood glucose of breast cancer patients after chemotherapy is higher than that before chemotherapy, we can consider that chemotherapy can induce impaired insulin function of the breast cancer patients, ultimately leads to blood glucose increasing;7.The average platele count of breast cancer patients is higher than without breast cancer patients’s,we can think there is a relationship between the breast cancer and thrombocytosis;8.The comparison of average platelet count of breast cancer patients before and after chemotherapy do not show statistical significance. Therefore, we can not claim that chemotherapy can increase platelet count.
