Objective :To estimate the prevalence and associated factors of refractive error,to estimate the distribution of vision, diopter, ocular axial length, intraocular pressure in children aged 7 to 12 years old in Liaozhong Shenyang. Methods : Population-Based, cross-sectional study. From December 2014 to March 2015, multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method to extract survey sites,we give the children ocular examination and questionnaire. The examination included visual acuity measurement, ocular motility evaluation, retinoscopy and examination of the external eye, anterior segment, media and fundus.Parents and children were administered detailed questionnaires including general information, children outdoor activities and so on. Results :Of 508 children enumerated 437(86%)were examined. The prevalence of myopia(spherical equivalent.SE<一0.5D)was 28.6%,the prevalence of hyperopia(SE≥+2.00 D)was 1.6%,Astigmatism(cylinder≥0.75 D)was 13.0%. In multivariate logistic regression analysis, the prevalence of myopia was associated with age, gender. Conclusions:The prevalence of myopia is high in 7-12 aged children living in liaozhong Shenyang, representing an important public health problem. The coverage and quality of refractive correction in the children need to be improved.
