To provide scientific evidence in choosing appropriate testing tools in evaluating health status for researchers in the country, we conducted the performance test of EQ-5D questionnaire. Methods : Multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method was used to select subjects by streets, communities, houses. A face to face investigation about the quality of life of childbearing age women in Dalian, China was conducted by using EuroQol 5-dimensions(EQ-5D) consisted by 5-domains and intuitive scale(VAS). The reliability and validity of the questionnaire were tested according to the standard Procedure of the International Quality of Life Assessment Project. The related factors affecting quality of life of childbearing age women in Dalian, China were evaluated generally through statistical description, statistical inference and multiple regression analysis. Results:The test of the reliability of EQ-5D scale showed that Cronbach’s α coefficient of the healthy description system was 0.775, split-half reliability was 0.920, test-retest reliability was between 0.573 and 0.814; the test of the validity of the healthy description system showed that the mobility and self-care analyzed 58.258% and 20.819% of the total variance, respectively, and the accumulated variance was 79.077%. The mean score of EQ-5D index and the mean score of EQ-VAS among women in childbearing age in Dalian, China were 0.981±0.085 and 86.29±11.735, respectively. As for 5 dimensions measured, most people(98.8%) had no difficulties in terms of self-care and there were higher difficulty report rates in pain/discomfort(3.8%) and anxiety/depression(4.1%). One-way ANOVA and t Test showed that there were significant differences in terms of the mean score of EQ-5D index and the mean score of EQ-VAS among urban women in childbearing age in age, marital status, degree of education, working condition and whether suffering from chronic disease. By calculating EQ-5D 5-domains difficulty report rate in different demographic characteristics, the results demonstrated that the older women had the higher difficulty report rate at the dimensions of pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression, the women who had divorced and were widowed had the higher difficulty report rate than those who were unmarried and married at the dimensions of pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression, the women with lower education had the higher difficulty report rate at the dimension of daily activities, the women who were unemployed had the higher difficulty report rate than other employment status at the dimension of anxiety/depression. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that the influencing factor of mobility was whether suffering from chronic disease; the influencing factors of self-care were marital status and the condition of suffering from chronic disease; the factors of affecting daily activities were the degree of education and the condition of suffering from chronic disease; the influencing factors of pain/discomfort were age, marital status and whether suffering from chronic disease; the factors of affecting anxiety/depression were age, marital status, working condition and whether suffering from chronic disease.Conclusion:EQ-5D questionnaire performed good reliability and validity in evaluating health related quality of life among urban women in childbearing age, so it could be a suitable tool to evaluate quality of life of childbearing age women.
