The Clinical Research Of Treatment Of Radiation Pneumonitis Of Hang Qi San Shen Decoction

Objectives: Observation on the clinical efficacy and safety of HuangQiSanShen decoction in treatment of pneumonia after radiotherapy through clinical research, to be convenient for promoting application in clinic and benefit tumor patients widely.Methods: Sixty patients of radiation pneumonitis conformed to the inclusive criteria were elected, they were randomly divided into control group and treatment group. The control group was treated with regular symptomatic treatment after onset of symptom, while the treatment one was treated with HuangQiSanShen decoction on the basis of regular symptomatic treatment at the beginning of the radiotherapy. To observe on the incidence of radiation pneumonitis, the time clinical symptoms occur and its order of severity, TCM symptom scores, KPS scores and security index of two groups.Results: Clinical research showed that the difference in the incidence of radiation pneumonitis (p>0.05) was not statistically significant while the difference in the severity of the symptoms (p<0.05) was statistically significant. In terms of the time clinical symptoms occur and exposure dose of primary tumors, there was significant difference in statistics (p<0.01). Comparing the Watters scores and KPS scores, there was statistical difference in onset of symptoms occur and the end of treatment. In terms of cough, pant and weakness, there was statistical difference of both two groups (p＜0.05). Compared with the control group, the treatment group had the better effect after therapy. The difference had statistical significance (p<0.05). But In terms of pant, there was no statistical significance(p>0.05). There was no statistical significance in the security index between the two groups before and after therapy.Conclusions: To sum up, HuangQiSanShen decoction can improve the body tolerance effectively, reduce radiation injury, and improve cough, pant and weakness obviously. The study showed that HuangQiSanShen decoction can help thoracic oncology patients to complete the radio therapy operation well, improve patient’s survival, and reduce the side effects.
