Objective: To investigate the correlation between the vascular risk factors and the Spontaneous recanalization of neck and head arteries. Methods: Recruited 23 cases who experienced the spontaneous recanalization into the recanalized group and 116 cases whose occluded arteries didn’t recanalized into the non-recanalized group. Computed tomographic angiography(CTA) or digital subtraction angiography(DSA) was utilized to identify the artery occlusion and its spontaneous recanalization. Then analysed the difference in the vascular risk factors(age, sex, history of smoking and drinking, hypertension, diabetes, atrial fibrillation, hyperlipidaemia, red cell counting, platelet counting, PT-INR, fibrinogen) between the recanalized and the non-recanalized group. Results: The rate of atrial fibrillation in the recanalized group was significantly lower than that in the control group. The rate of hypertension(at grdae 3) in the recanalized group was significantly higher than that in the control group. Logistic regression analysis showe d that atrial fibrillation and hypertension were associated with the occurrence of the spontaneous recanaliztion, respectively. Conclusion: Atrial fibrillation reduced the success rate of the spontaneous recanaliztion, while hypertension improved that of it.
