PURPOSE:To identify associations between MRI features and breast cancer molecular subtypes.METHODS:We analyzed routine clinical pre-operative breast MRIs from334breast cancer patients who was treated at the department of oncological surgery in Sir Run Run Shaw hospital since March2012to December2015retrospectively. According to the immunohistochemical method (IHC), we divided the patients into4molecular subtypes:Luminal A, Luminal B, Her2, Triple negative Breast cancer (TNBC). The amounts of the patients are69,171,29,45respectively. MRI features included lesions’type, morphology, margin, reinforcement method, and time-intensity curve (TIC). A multivariate analysis was used to determine associations between the imaging features and molecular subtype.RESULTS:No association was found in morphology, margin and TIC in MRI for all of the four subtypes. Her2and TNBC were more inclined to manifestate a non-mass lesion (p<0.05). Compared to other subtypes (Luminal A, Luminal B), TNBC has higher proportion of acting as ring-enhancement (<0.001).CONCLUSION:The reinforcement methods of Luminal A, Luminal B are different from that of TNBC, the latter one tended to act as ring-enhancement.
