ObjectivesTo investigate the expression of TRAF2and the relationship with clininopathological factors and apoptosis in OSCC.Methods29OSCC and14normal oral mucosa tissues were investigated quantitatively for the expression of TRAF2, using immunohistochemical staining SP method. Simultaneously, TUNEL was performed to detect semiquantitatively the presence of apoptosis.Results1、TRAF2was found to be expressed highly in OSCC tissues, the positive rate was100%, including58.62%medium positive and34.48%weak positive. TRAF2was found to be64.29%positive in normal oral mucosa tissues, including57.15%weak positive. 2, Apoptosis was detected in12.54%normal oral mucosa tissues and22.00%,35.06%.44.10%in strong positive、medium positive、weak positive groups of OSCC.3、The expression of TRAF2and apoptotic index had no relationship with clininopathological factors in OSCC.4、Correlation analysis demonstrated a significant relationship between apoptosis and TRAF2expression in OSCC (r=-0.439)ConclusionsTRAF2was specifically expressed in OSCC tissues and weakly positive in normal oral mucosa tissues. Correlation analysis demonstrated a significant relationship between apoptosis and TRAF2expression in OSCC (r=-0.439).TRAF2may be a biomarker of genictherapy or immunotherapy for OSCC.
