Cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) is an uncommon but well-knowngenetic skeletal condition. The clinical manifestations are often innocuous, but hyperdontia and other developmental abnormalities of the teeth are amajor feature and may require special dental management. Over severaldecades, occasional reports of dental treatment to patients suffering withcleidocranial dysplasia have appeared in the literature. In the past, themain treatment was prosthetic replacement. Orthodontic treatment hasonly recently been considered as a serious treatment option, with successbeing described in several aspects of this treatment modality, in publishedindividual case reports. Developmental abnormalities of the teeth in CCDand four different approaches have been proposed in the past and arediscussed here. This is a case in orthodontic treatment of skull collarbonedysgenesis syndrome patients as the breakthrough point, to explore thecurative effect of treatment in patients with CCD with orthodonticmethod, providing a new method for the treatment of patients with CCDin the future.
