Objective This study plans through the clinical comparative observation,to objectively evaluates the clinical curative effects on depression in Alzheimer’s disease(liver depression and spleen deficiency)with Xiaoyaosan decoction.Methods The method in accordance with the randomized clinical trials according to TCM syndrome classification standards and diagnostic criteria for depression in Alzheimer’s disease.The study selected first hospital of Wuhan city neurology outpatient and inpatient depart-ments were 40 cases on the basis of medical order number met the inclusion criteria of depression in alzheimer’s disease.The 40 patients were randomly divided into experimental and control group by random number table method,20 patients in a group. Before treatment,two groups of gender,age,course of the disease, severity of dementia and depression,each factor of SF-36 scores, each individual TCM symptom severity of syndromes distributeion, TCM clnical symptom scores,there was no statistically signifycant difference(P>0.05),comparable.The two groups of patients were routine treatment for AD(Huperzine-A Tablets,by shanghai fudan after China pharmacyeutical co.LTD,100 ug at a time,twice a day treatment 6 weeks).The treatment group take Xiaoyaosan decoction(Daily 1 agent,water frying,200 ml at a time,twice a day).The control group take escitalopram oxalate citalopram(Trade name:Laishipu, first 5mg a day,last 3 days,if without discomfort,to 10 mg at a time,once a day).The two groups for treatment were 6 weeks.Before and after treatment respectively evaluate CSDD score,each factor of SF-36 score,TCM clinical symptom score,the curative effect of individual symptoms of traditional chinese medicine, clinical comprehensive curative effect of TCM,and safety evaluation.And then analysis of the statistics.Results ①Through clinical observation showed that,after the treatment,in the two groups,the CSDD score were both significantly reduced.Compared with before treatment, there was significant difference(P<0.05) in the two groups. After the treatment,The two groups compared with each other,there was no significant difference(P>0.05).By the CSDD reduced rate of clinical assessment,in the treatment group,the total effective rate was 72.22%,in the control group,the total effective rate was 77.78%,the total efficiency through statistical analysis,there were no significant difference(P>0.05).②After the treatment,in the two groups,the change of each factor of SF-36 score compare with the before treatment,the factor of physical functioning was no significantly changed(P>0.05), however the factor of role-physical,general health, vitality,social functioning,role-emotional,there were signifycant difference(P<0.05).Compared with each other in the two groups, the factor of the vitality, there was significant change(P< 0.05),the factor of role-physical,general health,social functioning,role-emotional,there were no significant difference(P > 0.05). ③After the treatment,compared with the before treatment, the two groups of TCM scores both significantly reduced, there were both signifycant difference(P<0.05).The single symptom curative effect of traditional chinese medicine:depressed mood, loving a sigh, sentimentality,there were no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). Mental decline,Thoracic and hypochondrium fullness,eating less, lassitude, abdominal distension, abdominal pain,chest tightness,sallow complexion,there were signifycant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).By the TCM symptom for clinical comprehensive curative effect assessment,in the treatment group,the total effective rate was 94.44%,in the control group,the total effective rate was 61.11%,the total efficiency through statistical analysis,there were significant differrence between the two groups(P<0.05). ④Adverse reactions inc1 inical applications, the observations show that the treatment group no significant side effects,while the control group were 2 cases had constipation insomnia.Conclusion Use Xiaoyaosan treatment of(liver depression and spleen deficiency)depression in Alzheimer,s disease,Xiaoyaosan can effectively reduce the CSDD score,improve patients, depressive symptoms,equal efficacy with the control group;Except the factor of physical functioning,Xiaoyaosan can effecti vely increase the other factor of SF-36,improve patients’ quality of live, equal efficacy with the control group;Xiaoyaosan can effectively reduce TCM symptoms score,to improve TCM symptoms is better than the control group,few side effects, high safety.
