Objective:This study collects the cases which one had Chinese herbal medicine combine with GTW in childhood, goes on follow-up and analysis, to preliminarily discuss the influence on adult’s fertility who have taken Chinese herbal medicine combine with GTW as children, and the impact on the female menstruation.Methods:Select children with Henoch-Schonlein purpura or anaphylatic purpura nephritis who used GTW when under 18 years old and now older than 18 years old (including 18 years old) in the recent 13 years--from January 1998 to December 2010, and follow up by telephone.and going to the village. The contents of follow-up including whether married, marriage age, fertility and child health, if they had any abnormal menstruation to female. Using binary logistic regression analysis to analyze the factors include medication age, clinical type, TCM syndrome, the initial dose which would affect menstruation. Results is analyzed by SPSS20.0 data statistics, and after setting the test, P<0.05 is considered statistically significantResults:(1)By refering to the cases,195 cases meet the standard,26 cases of them have married for more than 1 year,169 cases of them unmarried.(2)1 case of 26 married cases doesn’t have birth plan because of her rheumatoid arthritis,5 cases(20%) have given birth to 2 babies,18 cases (72%) have given birth to 1 baby, and 2 cases are in pregnancy. All offspring are healthy, pregnancy check of pregnant women revealed no abnormalities(3).There are 89 female cases and 4 cases of them refuse to cooperate, so the effective number is 85 cases.72 cases (84.7%) have normal menstruation and 13 cases (15.3%) have experienced menstrual abnormalities, there has no one of amenorrhea of these patients. By using binary logistic regression analysis to analyze the factors which would affect menstruation, the medication age, clinical type, TCM syndrome, the initial dose have no statistically significant with menstrual abnormalities, (P>0.05)Conclusions(1)Taking Chinese herbal medicine plus GTW in childhood, the medication age, clinical type, TCM syndrome, the initial dose have no statistically significant with menstrual abnormalities. (2)Taking Chinese herbal medicine plus GTW in childhood, the influence on adult’s fertility have not been found. (3) Combined with yishen Chinese herbal medicine, the damage of reproductive system have been weakened.
