Objective:By means of systematic study of the application of Quchi(LI 11) in the ancient literatures which before and including the Qing Dynasty,to conclude the law of the clinical application of Quchi(LI 11) in the ancient.Methods: We use the TCM of philology and data mining research methods to selecte the content of the primary diseases and syndrome of Quchi(LI 11) without the compatible effect, the primary diseases and syndrome of Quchi(LI 11) with compatible effects, the compatibility of acupionts,and the methods of needling and moxibustion in their the ancient literatures.Then we built a data base about the application of Quchi(LI 11),and statistical analysis was performed by SPSS16.0 on the database.Results: We abstracted 31 primary diseases and syndrome without the compatible effect and screened 10 advantage of primary diseases and syndrome without the compatible effects. We abstracted 65 primary diseases and syndrome with the compatible effects,17 advantage of primary diseases and syndrome with the compatibile effects of the high compatibility prescription.The compatible points of fourteen channels which abstracted in the Study of Quchi(LI 11) was 150.the compatible points of ten channels which used more ofen was Hegu(LI4), Jianyu(LI 15), Xuanzhong(GB39),Baihui(GV20),Zsanli(ST36),Weizhong(BL40),Fengchi(GB20),Yanglingquan(GB34), Fengshi(GB31) and Xingjian(LR2).The extra points which abstracted in the Study of Quchi(LI 11) was 9. We also summarized that the moxibustion, pricking blood and acupuncture therapy were the main method of acupuncture and moxibustion at Quchi(LI 11).Conclusion:The results of the study on the clinical application of Quchi(LI 11) reflect the ancient application of Quchi in the ancient more comprehensive. And the results have great reference value for the clinical and scientific research.
