Objective : Based on current acupuncture treatment of diabetic neuropathy research, this paper has two main research purposes:one, to observe the efficacy of Electoracupuncture for treatment of painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy(PDN);the other,to find Electoracupuncture is how to treat painful diabetic neuropathy.Methods:60 patients who meet the test conditions both in the basic treatment of type 2 diabetes were randomly divided into two groups, namely the EA group, the control group, then were to be EA and intramuscular Methycobal neurotrophic treatment for 4 weeks. In the next experiment study, 20 Zucker fa-fa Diabetic rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: the Electoracupuncture group, the Sham Electoracupuncture group, the Model group, the control group. PDN models were created in the three Groups before the control Group, and the control Group was the same series of Zucker Lean rat. The species is naturally obese diabetic rats, with no human modeling except Zucker Lean rat. Four groups of rats continuously measured thermal pain threshold as the basis for the treatment of pain threshold in the first three days. And acupuncture treatment every day, measured thermal pain threshold every three days. After four weeks, taking the DRG of the rats measure GAP-43 and TNF-α contenting determination, and use light microscopy in observatng the number of positive cells of TNF-α.Reasult: Experimental studies have shown that there are no GAP-43 in rats, but in the model group obviously painful diabetic neuropathy change, TNF-α relative to the control group had a significant increased in DRG. Acupuncture, sham acupuncture group than among the control and change between model group. EA group within DRG, TNF-α relative to the sham acupuncture group has decreased. Significant difference(p<0.05).Clinical studies have shown that application of electro-acupuncture treatment of painful diabetic neuropathy, its remarkable efficiency, the symptoms and signs of change in the total score, the pain disappeared after treatment was significantly better than the control group. Conclusion: EA can effectively inhibit the expression of TNF-α and thus ease the pain of diabetes, inhibiting the release of inflammatory cytokines may be an effective mechanism to improve diabetic neuropathic pain in patients with clinical symptoms of the disease.
